“현장에 답이 있다”… 농어업인의 소득과 미래를 책임지다

한국농어촌공사 제16대 해남완도지사장에 정경훈 지사장이 취임했다.
정 지사장은 지난 2일 취임식을 갖고, 농어촌과 농어업인이 직면한 현실 앞에서 공기업의 책임을 분명히 했다.

정경훈 지사장은 취임사에서 “농어촌을 둘러싼 국내외의 복합적인 위기와 구조적 변화들을 지역개발 정책과 사업 전반에 적극 반영해, 농어업인에게 실질적인 소득과 지속 가능한 희망을 주는 일등 공기업의 역할을 다하겠다.”며 “공공기관으로서의 사회적 책임을 결코 가볍게 여기지 않고, 농어업 발전의 최일선에서 해남과 완도를 든든히 뒷받침하겠다.”고 강조했다.

이번 취임은 단순한 보직 이동이 아니라, 기후위기·농촌 인구감소·농업 기반 약화라는 삼중의 과제를 안고 있는 해남·완도 지역에 책임 있는 현장 리더십이 본격 투입됐다는 신호로 받아들여지고 있다.

광주광역시 출신인 정 지사장은 1997년 한국농어촌공사에 입사한 이후 본사 미래전략실장, 영광지사장 등 핵심 보직을 두루 거치며 농어촌 정책과 지역개발 분야에서 폭넓은 경험을 쌓아왔다.

특히 중장기 전략 수립과 현장 실행을 동시에 아우르는 실무형 리더로 평가받아 왔다.
온화한 성품과 탁월한 소통 능력, 그리고 추진력을 겸비한 정 지사장은 직원 상하 간 두터운 신망을 받아온 인물로 알려져 있다.
내부 신뢰를 바탕으로 한 조직 운영과, 농어업인·지자체와의 협력 강화가 기대되는 이유다.
정경훈 지사장의 취임으로 한국농어촌공사 해남완도지사는 형식적 관리기관을 넘어, 농어업인의 삶과 지역의 미래를 함께 책임지는 현장 중심 공기업으로서의 역할을 한층 더 분명히 하게 됐다.

“The Answer Is in the Field”… Taking Responsibility for Farmers’ Income and the Future
Kyung-Hoon Jung Appointed Head of KRC Haenam–Wando Branch
Kyung-Hoon Jung has been inaugurated as the 16th head of the Haenam–Wando Branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC).
Jung officially took office at an inauguration ceremony held on the 2nd, where he clearly articulated the public corporation’s responsibility in the face of the challenges confronting rural communities and farmers.
In his inaugural address, Jung stated, “We will actively reflect the complex global and domestic crises and structural changes surrounding rural areas in our regional development policies and projects, and fulfill our role as a top-tier public corporation that delivers real income and sustainable hope to farmers.” He added, “We will never take lightly our social responsibility as a public institution, and we will firmly support the development of agriculture and rural communities at the forefront here in Haenam and Wando.”
This appointment is being seen not as a routine personnel move, but as a signal that accountable, on-the-ground leadership has been fully deployed in the Haenam–Wando region—an area facing a triple challenge of climate crisis, rural population decline, and weakening agricultural foundations.
A native of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Jung joined the Korea Rural Community Corporation in 1997 and has since held key positions, including Director of the Future Strategy Office at headquarters and Head of the Yeonggwang Branch, building broad expertise in agricultural policy and regional development.
He has been widely recognized as a hands-on leader capable of bridging long-term strategic planning with on-site execution. Known for his warm personality, outstanding communication skills, and strong drive, Jung has earned deep trust across all levels of the organization. This internal confidence forms the basis for expectations of stronger cooperation with farmers and local governments.
With Jung’s inauguration, the KRC Haenam–Wando Branch is expected to further clarify its role—not as a merely administrative body, but as a field-oriented public enterprise that shares responsibility for farmers’ livelihoods and the region’s future.
Attention is now focused on how his “responsible commitment” will translate into tangible change across the rural communities of Haenam and Wando.
